City of Presidents

The Parade of Presidents. A bicentennial project in 1976 Commemorating our nation's 200th birthday.

Forty-four patriotic shields with each president's name, silhouette, term in office and birth state, still line the city's Main Street. Flags fly high over each shield from Memorial Day through Veteran's Day for everyone to enjoy.

Cuba City, City of Presidents Endowment Fund Established

The Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin, Inc. is pleased to announce that a new endowment fund has been created to support the upkeep and enhancement of the City of Presidents Committee projects. The permanent endowment fund will provide long-term support for charitable and philanthropic projects such as water tower lettering, Veterans Memorial, Presidential Courtyard and Main Street Shields and U.S. Flags. New projects to promote and/or enhance the beauty of Cuba City may also be considered.

“By creating this endowment fund through the Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin, we have ensured an ongoing funding source for our community in perpetuity,” said Joe Goeman, long-time volunteer and leader of the City of Presidents Committee. “We know that these funds will be invested wisely and the earnings will be available to our community forever,” he added.

The Cuba City, City of Presidents Endowment Fund, a component of the Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin, Inc may accept donations by area citizens at any time. Contributions are tax deductible to the full extent allowed by law. Checks should be made payable to the Cuba City, City of Presidents Endowment Fund and sent c/o Mike Lisle, PO Box 826, Cuba City, WI 53807.
