Community Center Update Meeting
Wednesday August 20, 2014 7:00 pm
WELCOME TO THE CUBA CITY, WI WEBSITE!
As summer begins to wind down and we start thinking of schools starting and the fall season approaching. Please use extreme caution in driving when school opens.
The time to launch our new website is getting very close. The ease of using the website should be a welcome improvement for everyone. We will be doing a Letter to the Citizens to keep you better informed on what’s happening in town. There will be a section for coming events as well as an area to let you know when upcoming council meetings are being held as well as the different committee meetings. Please watch for this exciting new information on our new website.
We are well into the process of revitalizing our Main Street. The city council has passed the grants and low interest loans for store fronts to be updated. There has been a lot of interest in the program and we look forward to seeing some of the improvements soon. As a city, approving the grants and loan programs for Main Street, shows their commitment to getting things turned around and making an investment in what we believe is the best small town in America.
The final work on the exterior of city hall is just about completed. It looks great and something we all can take pride in. A great looking municipal building goes a long way when businesses and home owners are thinking of relocating to Cuba City.
The new shields are now in the process of being constructed and hopefully we will have them up in late September. What a fantastic way to start our downtown revitalization process. We are so thankful to the City of Presidents Committee and the citizens who have made contributions to the committee to make this happen. You will be impressed when they are all up on the poles.
We continue to work on other exciting projects that are being worked on for Cuba City. Thank you for your contribution whatever it might be to make Cuba City a great place to do business and raise a family. On Monday night, the 11th of August, there was a disaster drill of a mock tornado that struck the south side of town and Epione Pavilion. Our fire fighters and rescue squad members did a superb job handling the drill. I want to thank them very much for the time they spend on being prepared, their dedication, and their commitment to Cuba City. We need to let them know how much we appreciate what they do.
Let’s all work together to make Cuba City a vibrant community with lots of things to offer!
