Welcome to Cuba City, Wisconsin!

WELCOME TO CUBA CITY
"THE CITY OF PRESIDENTS"

Mayor's Message October 23, 2014

Fall is the best time of year! The leaves are at their peak color and the farmers are all busy harvesting their crops. The weather has been great with the warm days and cool nights. It doesn’t get much better than this.

Fall is also a great time for the city of Cuba City. Our street work is completed, the new presidential shields have been put up, and hopefully our LED lights for Main Street will be up soon. There are new homes and duplexes being built and a large addition is taking place in the Industrial Park for NMC. Our Industrial Park will have a new sign soon listing all the businesses in the park. I want to thank the owners of the new homes being built, the contractors, and the businesses for your investment in Cuba City.

We are beginning to see some results from our city grants and loans for façade improvements on Main Street. Nick’s Café is taking shape, the Main Street Wine & Pub will be beginning soon, and several other businesses will be doing improvements in the spring. Local businesses, please take advantage of these grants and loans while they are available. Together we will update your store fronts and make Cuba City’s downtown look great. We are now planning the projects for 2015.

As the holiday season approaches, the Chamber of Commerce is planning some exciting things. On November 29th, we will be having our first ever “Small Business Saturday” to help promote shopping locally. Watch for more details in the Tri-County Press. For Christmas in Cuba City, our big day will be December 13th. There will be youth choirs performing, bake sales, caroler’s, the first ever “Christmas Glow” lighted parade, Christmas tree decoration contest, and Santa will be arriving through the parade. It should be a fantastic day and evening in Cuba City.

I want to take this opportunity to thank some well deserving people. Thank you to Kathy and Amy for overseeing all functions and operations of our city. Thank you to George Morrissey and his great crew of workers to keep our city looking great. Thank you to Troy Loeffelholz his officers and staff for keeping our city a safe place to live. Thank you to Amber Majerus and her staff for making Cuba City’s library the best in the area. Thank you Taylor Gronau for your promoting and recruiting for our city. Thank you to all the city council members for giving of your time in representing the different wards. Thank you to all the Committee members for your time and input. A big thank you to Steve Tranel and all the Volunteer Firemen for your time and dedication to our city. I would also like to thank Marie Wiederholt and all the Rescue Squad volunteers for being there when we need you. Thank you to the citizens of Cuba City in helping make Cuba City such a great place to live and raise a family. When we all work together, we can make things happen! Thank You!
