As summer begins, I am sure we are all looking forward to enjoying the outdoors and joining in the activities in Cuba City. Our hometown festival was held June 13 to the 15th. The weather was fantastic! The very popular truck and tractor pull was a great success along with the 5K run. Let’s all work together and make the hometown festival bigger and better in 2015.

There are a lot of exciting things happening over the next several months. The Sloan Implement Company has been annexed to the city and will be a part of our TID district. Our community markets will be held the 4th Wednesday of every month through September at Veteran’s Park from 4:00 – 7:00 PM. Please come and visit the vendors and enjoy some of their homegrown and homemade products. You will be glad you stopped. The presidential Courtyard Visitor Center is now open to everyone on Saturdays from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM. Stop by and take a look at some of our history.

The Cuba City Community Center committee is working hard on their fundraising for the center. If you haven’t made a donation or pledge, please consider doing so.

We have begun our Main Street revitalization project to help our city with a facelift to make our town something we can be proud and more inviting to visitors to stop and visit our businesses. Many business owners attended the kickoff meeting to learn more about the project and what the city has in store. The City of Presidents Committee will be replacing all of the Presidential Shields with new shields. A big thank you to Joe Goeman and his committee for spearheading this project. Cuba City is known as the City of Presidents and having all new shields will insure that identity for many years. The new shields will be a great kickoff to revitalizing our Main Street.

The city will soon have a new logo and a new website. The site will be more user friendly where we can get more information to our citizens. Please be watching for this site soon.

We have a lot of exciting things happening in Cuba City and more to come in the near future. We are always interested in your suggestions to make Cuba City an even better place. I hope you contact me or anyone connected to the city if you have questions or concerns. My door is always open and I welcome the opportunity to talk with you about our city. Please watch for other new things that are in the planning process.

Let’s all get excited about Cuba City! The place we have chosen to live and raise our families.
Thank You!
